Luke 7:37-39 And behold a woman in the city which was a sinner when she knew that [Jesus] sat at meat in the Pharisee's house brought an alabaster box of ointment. 38 And stood at his feet behind [him] weeping and began to wash his feet with tears and did wipe [them] with the hairs of her head and kissed his feet and anointed [them] with the ointment. 39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw [it] he spake within himself saying This man if he were a prophet would have known who and what manner of woman [this is] that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. Luke 7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth little.
I don't know about you but when I think about the goodness of God, and his mercy towards me, that he loves me so much that he sent his son even for a sinner like you and I! But, more so when I think about all that he had to forgive me for I can never repay him. I am so glad Jesus paid it all. He just said Father forgive them! We all need to think back on how he really has blessed us in spite of our past sins! He will really change the way you worship!
If you read this passage of scripture you will see a woman who was labeled a sinner. A woman of the night who made her living as a prostitute. However, she entered into a room and entered into true worship. She cried,which to me was a sign of repentance and cleansing. She wiped Jesus feet with her hair, which hair represents glory for women, but she gave her glory to him, as she wipe his feet, which showed humility and it was no longer about her. She anointed his feet with precious oil. Which shows praise for the heavy load of our sins he would soon bear as he carry the cross for to Calvary! She did not care what the religious leaders thought about her past. In the middle of their stares, and whispers she gave her full attention to him! She stood behind him when she first entered the room, showing I am ready to follow you Jesus! I tried sin and it lead me no where. She was in true worship. We all need to pay attention to how she worshipped.
When we enter into the presence of God, we should cry out in gratitude and repent. When we cry out we should bow down and worship and give him glory! We should follow and obey him. We should not care about what anyone thinks, we should be just as free and this woman. ( a known sinner)
Listen ...when you think about, how you have been in the wrong places and could have been killed; when you think how you drove home drunk, and didn't loose your life, when you slept around and could have caught a deadly disease, how you sin on purpose, and did not have sense enough to care, oh there is too much to name, we all have unspeakable sins, sin is sin, but once you come into his presence and repent he forgives it! There is no big sin and little sin, it all forgiven in his presence. When he done so much.. You want to love on him so much, cause so much has been forgiven!
When God has done so much,truly worship Him!
